Insightful Sessions and Keynote Speakers
With more than 100 sessions to choose from, ranging from industry panels, product announcements and roadmaps, training for advanced and new learners, fun activities, and social events, our audience of 450 smart builders had some decisions to make when setting their agenda.
This included:
- Opening keynote by Adrian Foley, President and CEO of Brookfield Residential Properties.
- Cara Brookins, author and mom who built her own home with the help of her four children and YouTube tutorials.
- Ron Brownstein, senior political analyst at CNN and senior editor at The Atlantic, came off the campaign trail to share insights on the impact the 2024 US presidential election will have on the homebuilding industry.
- Leadership Power Panel, featuring speakers Don Dykstra (Bloomfield Homes), Robert Broad (AMH), Jennifer Johnson (Olivia Clark Homes), Deborah Flagan (Hayden Homes), and Scott Davis (Trumark Homes), who discussed how to build high-performance teams.
- Industry Panel featuring speakers Ken Pinto (Kenzai USA), Robert Broad (AMH), Brandon Sharp (Brookfield), Natasha Zabaneh (City Ventures), and Jeremy Knicely (StyleCraft Homes), who discussed on strategies and tips on how to focus on operations excellence.

Industry Innovations to Shape the Modern Homebuilder
Build Smarter 2024 was the place to be to learn the latest software innovations that will continue to shape the modern homebuilder.
BuilderMetrix was showcased for builders looking to access the industry’s most accurate and timely homebuilding data. Our data and technology leaders shared best practices for accessing and leveraging regional benchmarks while discussing how to integrate your existing ERP system to gain powerful reporting, analytics, and dashboards.
For NEWSTAR users, TouchPoint, the new, modern web portal for trades and suppliers was unveiled. TouchPoint elevates the homebuilder and vendor experience by streamlining jobs, payments, orders, and schedules between homebuilders and their contractors, trades, and suppliers. Build Smarter attendees got a chance to take a look at the new technology with an intuitive live demo.
Meanwhile, BuildTopia users got a chance to learn how they can maximize construction efficiency in the field. The BuilderGo mobile app is now available for the BuildTopia ecosystem, and conference attendees learned how they can improve two-way communication with trades, access construction data online seamlessly from the field, and gain real-time project insights.

Memorable Experiences at Build Smarter 2024
Build Smarter attendees rated this year’s event an 8.7 out of 10, and one-third of attendees have given the event a perfect score.
In addition to the beautiful, convenient resort, attendees raved about the delicious meals, vast networking opportunities, and exciting Builder Bash event. There was much fun to be had with the event’s colorful t-shirts and on-site alpacas!
